Two Sites in One Visit

Prime agricultural land, Magee Lake Natural Area lies southwest and close to but not on its namesake. This lake and the micro-watershed are important feeders for Buffalo Lake, itself a well loved recreational destination.

A little further west is the well established J.J. Collett Natural Area. It was donated to the province by Jack Collett in memory of his son John Joseph Collett who was killed in a forestry accident.

The field trip will start at Magee and explore the site for a few hours. After that, we will drive to JJ Collett to have our own packed lunch and explore this site.

Who Can Come/Invited?

  • SAPAA Board Members.
  • SAPAA Members and friends.
  • Individuals interested in SAPAA but not YET a member.
  • Government officials.

There is no cost to participate nor reimbursement for mileage, etc. Attendees are encouraged to complete a Site Inspection for the site(s) afterwards. Training on the form will be offered in the field and prior to this trip.
