See you This Saturday!
A field trip organized for the University of Alberta and Grant MacEwan University students to explore Riverlot 56 Natural Area. Set for November 1, 2025, it encourages nature observation and community interaction. Pre-registration is necessary due to potential weather cancellations.

SAPAA is currently hosting 3 student groups from the University of Alberta and Grant MacEwan University. They are working on the following projects:
- Project 3 – Peer Organization Market Scan (UofA, SEM 638)
- Project 4 – Nearby Resident Communication Kit (GMU, SOWK 303)
- Projects 5 to 6 – Databases and Applications (UofA, CMPT 401)
This is in addition to three other student projects run before or during the summer. A huge thank you to the students and instructors for their time and talent!
Get OUT! … On a Field Trip
SAPAA runs field trips for student groups. Riverlot 56 Natural Area is a good location as it has a nearby heated building in the Kingswood Park in St. Albert. We will meet in the heated pavilion at 0900h and head out to explore the site. Students are encouraged to submit their own Site Inspection Form from their experience. If they have iNaturalist installed on their smart phone, try making some observations as well.
A surprise may greet the students on their return (just saying…).
Pre-registrations is requested and this event is open to all current and past students, SAPAA members, Riverlot 56 society members, and affiliated Nature Alberta clubs.
