Testing SIR SAPAA

SAPAA has developed a user-friendly web tool set for launch. Users are invited to test the system and provide feedback by March 16, 2026. Pre-registration is essential required.

In 2023, SAPAA took over the Site Inspection Report (SIR) process from the Government of Alberta. Since that time, the organization has worked on a web based tool to make the process easier. The app is almost ready to be launched but we need someone to try and break the system, are you game!

What is Involved?

You will be given access to the system. Feel free to poke around prior to the two sessions planned. While in the system you will have access to all historic site inspection reports, including your own.

You can join a group review session or gain access and test at your own speed (but without support), your choice. All comments are needed by March 16, 2026.

Revisiting a Past Trip… and How Did it Go?

During the review sessions, you may be asked to re-submit a past report. If you don’t recall the details, SAPAA can send you a copy (see an example from Crippsdale). After re-entering the report, you will be asked questions such as:

  • How was the process, anything to make it easier, what did not ‘feel’ right?
  • What did (not) work very well?
  • Does having access to other site inspection reports make you more (or less) inclined to visit a site?
  • Noting this is v1.0 and the ‘web version’, what is the one (or more) things you wished the system would do?
  • Other thoughts and words of wisdom.

Pre-Registration is a Must

Because you will be given access to the system which contains protected information, you must pre-register. We will try to accommodate as many individuals as possible but may need to limit access. After registering, you will be emailed a Zoom Link for the session.
