Other Information

Town Creek Natural Area 10 km south of Winfield, encompasses a large black spruce fen and small creek in a rolling moraine with aspen on upland and willow wetlands in depressions; good wildlife habitat.

A Town Follows a Blindman. Despite its proximity to Pigeon Lake and Battle Lake, nearby Town Lake and Town Creek flows into the Red Deer and then the South Saskatchewan via the Blindman River. A distance at the headwaters of a few hundred metres separates a drop of water for many hundreds of subsequent kilometers until the North and South Saskatchewan Rivers form a single Saskatchewan River [1].
