Alberta Environment and Parks: Volunteer Steward Program Evaluation and Visioning

The Alberta Government (GoA) contracted with the Miistakis Institute to prepare an analysis of the legacy Volunteer Steward Program entitled: “Alberta Environment and Parks: Volunteer Steward Program Evaluation and Visioning” (Miistakis Report)

Research for the report was conducted in 2021 and the report was released in February 2022. SAPAA received a copy of the report in December 2024 (see: CBC Story – Volunteer Stewardship Program).

A Members Only (+ Guests) Debriefing

SAPAA will walk through the Miistakis Report with its current members at a private debriefing. SAPAA also invites past members to attend as well as Volunteer Stewards as identified by the Alberta Government (or self identified).

SAPAA remains optimistic that there will be representation from GoA at the briefing. It is possible the meeting date/time may be adjusted to accommodate their attendance.

Registration

A meeting link for the briefing will be sent to individuals who have pre-registered. Registration is not required to download the Report.
