Other Information

Nestow is a small hamlet (population, 5) northeast of Westlock [1]. Its name was taken from the Cree word for ‘brother-in-law’, although the reason for this choice is not known [2].

A Central Missing Section completes an otherwise rectangular site. This “missing portion” is owned by Westlock County; the Alberta Conservation Association owns lands to the south and east of the site [3]. The Steward for this area received the Outstanding Individual Steward Award in 2008 [4].

About 90km North of Edmonton, the natural area is south of the hamlet of the same name. The selection of this name is unknown but is taken from the Cree word for brother-in-law. Whether you have good relations or not with your brother-in-law, you can still like this NA!
