Located about 5 km south of Rocky Mountain House, the site contains portions of both the Clearwater River and Prairie Creek.

The site is south of an acreage development and less than 1 km south of the confluence of the Prairie Creek and Clearwater River. The latter empties into the North Saskatchewan River about 5 km north of the NA.

Clearwater River originates in the Clearwater Mountain in the Rocky Mountains. The name has been in use since at least 1814 [1].
